Welcome to The Malayan Plaza
The Malayan Plaza, situated at the bustling corner of ADB Avenue and Opal Road in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, stands as a compelling choice for travelers seeking both convenience and warmth in Metro Manila. With a solid rating of 3.9, this hotel offers a balance of comfort and accessibility within reach of major shopping malls such as Megamall, Robinsons, and Podium.
Guests appreciate the spacious rooms equipped with practical amenities like walk-in closets, kitchenettes, and dining spaces—features that elevate the stay beyond the usual hotel experience. The inclusion of free parking, complimentary breakfast, and Wi-Fi creates added value, although the connectivity can occasionally falter. Notably, the presence of kitchenettes with electric stoves allows guests to prepare meals, a rarity in city hotels, but this can lead to lingering cooking odors in some rooms.
The Malayan Plaza’s location is its undeniable strength. Nestled in the heart of Ortigas, it offers easy access to a variety of local attractions, from flavorful Filipino cuisine to cultural stops like the nearby local history museum. Travelers who enjoy exploring urban landscapes benefit from the sprawling shopping districts just a short walk away.
Service here merits genuine commendation. Staff are attentive, courteous, and responsive—a fact highlighted in the exceptional breakfast service by personnel such as Wency, whose warmth and professionalism leave a lasting impression. Concierge and security teams further bolster the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring guests feel well looked after throughout their stay.
However, some areas show room for improvement. Several guests have noted the need for updates in room decor, worn towels, and the limited selection of TV channels. The parking facilities, while free, can present challenges for larger vehicles, though the staff's problem-solving efforts are commendable. Minor maintenance issues like rusty air conditioning doors and the policy of daily deposits at check-in could be better communicated.
Overall, The Malayan Plaza strikes a harmonious chord between value and practicality, especially for visitors who prioritize location and a homey environment over luxurious upgrades. It embodies a genuine, down-to-earth hospitality that, while imperfect, is sincere and heartfelt. For those wishing to immerse themselves in the vibrant pulse of Ortigas Center with the comforts of a thoughtfully equipped hotel, The Malayan Plaza remains a meaningful and accessible option.

The place was nice enough. They could use better quality toilet tissue and provide more than one roll without being asked. A pet peeve of mine is that most hotels only provide limited TV channels, and this was no exception. Parking spaces are small, but the hotel staff went out of their way to find an appropriate solution for my oversized SUV.
First come , first serve parking Overall a decent stay. The room needs a bit of renovation, and the towels were overly used and needed replacement. Staff responded promptly when requested.
We had a pleasant experience. They have kitchen and was able to request utensils. Close to Megamall, Robinsons and Podium. Although facility needs upgrade staff are very helpful and friendly. Nice sunset view from our room.
“I would like to commend Wency for the exceptional service during the breakfast buffet at The Malayan Plaza. Wency was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure every guest felt welcomed and well looked after. Their warm demeanor and professionalism truly enhanced the dining experience. A great way to start the day — thank you, Wency!” Also, thank you for kindly refilling my water bottle. Truly appreciated!
The Malayan Tower is located in F. Ortigas Avenue cor Opal St. in the busy Ortigas Commercial District of Pasig. It has 26 floors plus a basement parking area, which is slightly lower than I'M a hotel in Makati City. Unlike other condominiums, hotels, and other high-rise buildings where the elevator is separate from the parking basement to ground floor and ground floor to the rests of the upper floors of the building, the Malayan Tower has elevators connected straight ahead from the basement to the desired floors. The basement parking has a toilet beside the elevator. Pros: Movement-detection light. The light automatically sets on when you are present. Cons: Not well-maintained. The parking fee is P60 for the first two hours and P20 for the succeeding hour, to be paid in the concierge area of the ground floor lobby. Those who are unit owners are exempted from the parking fee. The unit already contains the living room space with the kitchen as their pantry. The unit has a clean toilet with a covered shower area. There is a balcony where you can view the Ortigas district from above. Those suffering from acrophobia may experience the trembling sensation when looking below from the units where you stay. I'm a guest, and the reason for the visit to the Malayan Tower is for the purpose of a tarot card workshop held on the 30th floor (3009, to be specific). The breakfast buffet is advertised on the ground floor. You can coordinate with the help desk for the matter.
The service is ok, staff is very polite and friendly. The location is actually excellent. The Podium is just a short walk from the hotel. The room however is weirdly standard. It has a smell that is caused by continuous cooking inside the room ( it seems you can cook there as there is an electric stove).
Value for money. Parking and buffet breakfast included. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room, it has a walk-in closet, dining and kitchen area. Wifi is a bit lagging. But what I commend is the hospitality of everyone-- from concierge to guards to caterers in the buffet area. Recommending the place if you're looking for a accessibility.
Great location as it is walking distance from major malls and other establishments. The rooms are very comfortable and include a variety of utilities. A bit of maintenance might be good (there was a section of my room's AC door that was rusty and badly installed). I do wish they would announce that upon check-in you have to pay a deposit per each day of your stay. But overall is a good option
